La Bella Creations is an independent Australian design label that provides women with the opportunity to wear beautifully strong fashion jewellery, that is also affordable and reliable.
Product lines include Tiny Tot Tug Proof™, Durable Jewellery for all Women and Cute Kids. The La Bella range includes strong and sassy necklaces, bangles and rings that suit the lifestyle of mothers, and busy women who welcome unique, lasting, fashion jewellery. Most of it is made in Australia by Australian mums and grandmas.
About the Creator
La Bella was devised by owner/director Kylie Watson who was seeking quality fashion jewellery that was durable to wear around her young children. Kylie likes fashion but didn't have much time to scour the shops looking for suitable pieces that were lead free, nickel free, and tug-proof. The few pieces she did find were very expensive and it wasn't clear just how tough they were.
After speaking with other busy mums at kids' parties, playgroup and gymbaroo Kylie realised that there was a need for jewellery that was fashionable, but also reliable, well labelled and strong; so she created Tiny Tot Tug Proof (TM) jewellery specifically for women who spend their time around little ones. Demand was so strong from people that do not have young children that she also designs the Durable Jewellery range for all women. La Bella is a combination of the names of Kylie's two daughters, Lakeisha (4 years old) and Keirabella (2 years old).
Testing
La Bella has a collection of mums, grandmas and aunties that all test new designs before they go on the market. Testing involves wearing the jewellery around children, seeing how tough the jewellery is when children touch it (under supervision), doing every day tasks and providing feedback on what improvements might need to be made on the designs. La Bella's necklaces are usually a pendant or beads made from resin, acrylic, semi precious gemstones, or kukui seeds and they are usually strung onto a strong comfortable silk, leather, cotton or ribbon cord with knots amongst the beads.
The clasps are either a plastic breakaway safety clasp, a simple knot that is not too uncomfortable if accidentally pulled, strong toggle knots, or an adjustable knotted clasp that enables the necklace to be long or short. Products are grouped into the following categories.
Tiny Tot Tug Proof™
Tiny Tot Tug Proof™ creations are specifically designed and sourced for those who send a lot of time around babies and toddlers. They are tiny tot tug proof and will survive a fair amount of baby 'drool'. Each bead is designed to fascinate tiny tots but still retain a fashionable focus for Mum. Choking hazards apply.
The range of necklaces, bangles and rings in this category include teething necklaces and bangles and breastfeeding jewellery.
Jewellery in this category is made in Australia, with the exception of the teething jewellery which is made by a US company (Dr Bloom & Smart Mum).
Durable Jewellery
The Durable Jewellery range of necklaces, bangles and rings features fashion jewellery suitable for all women. These creations are designed to be worn by women who like strong quality fashion jewellery that lasts longer than average fashion jewellery.
They are durable around babies and children but NOT for every day wear and they will not survive constant tugging and drool. They will survive some tugging but NOT everyday tugging.
Necklaces in this category are made in Australia, but rings and bangles are sourced from other reliable suppliers in Indonesia and India.
Cute Kids
This is a strong, tough and cute range for children over 3 years of age.
